Privacy Policy

The short version: Luup stores all your data locally on your device. We don't collect it, we don't see it, and we don't send it anywhere — unless you choose to share it yourself.
Data Storage
All data you enter into luup — including product names, ingredient lists, ratings, and preferences — is stored exclusively on your device using local storage. This data is never transmitted to any luup server.
We have no access to your data and no ability to retrieve it. If you delete the app, your data is deleted with it.
Sharing & Export
luup lets you share products with friends via a link, and export your own data at any time. These are entirely opt-in, user-initiated actions.
When you share a product, the ingredient data is encoded directly into the share link and processed client-side — it is not uploaded to or stored on any luup server. However, like any website, our hosting provider may retain standard server access logs that include URLs.
When you export your data, it is saved directly to your device. No copy is sent to us.
Camera & Photo Library
luup may request access to your camera and photo library to scan ingredient labels. Images are processed entirely on your device using on-device text recognition. No images are uploaded, stored remotely, or shared with any third party.
On-Device AI
Ingredient predictions are generated by an AI model that runs entirely on your device. Your data is not sent to any external service or API to generate predictions. The model is not retrained based on your usage.
Analytics & Tracking
We do not use any analytics tools, tracking SDKs, or advertising frameworks. We do not track how you use the app, how often you open it, or what you do inside it.
This app is distributed through Google Play and the Apple App Store, which may collect certain usage and diagnostic data under their own privacy policies.
Third Parties
We do not share any data with third parties because we do not collect any data to share. No data broker, advertiser, or analytics provider receives any information from Luup.
Minor's Privacy
Luup does not collect any information from children under the age of 18. Since no data is collected at all, the app is safe for all ages.
